Will we meet before the big day?

Absolutely! Hopefully you will agree to do an engagement shoot, which really helps me to get to know you as a couple, your personalities, style, likes and dislikes! We’ll have a bit of fun, and you end up with some photos reminding you of this very special time! Should we not be able to do a pre-wedding shoot, I will arrange a get together to discuss your requirements, as well as plan for the day and all other particulars.

How do you cover the entire wedding day?

I normally work for a total of 6 to 8 hours. This is normally sufficient time and I  focus on events in the following sections:

  • Getting dressed, venue details and bridesmaids
  • Ceremony
  • Group photos including family and friends
  • Couple session
  • Reception and speeches
  • Dancing, guests and candid ‘party shots’

Any additional hours are charged at R1200 p/h after.

Are you able to set up a photo booth for guest photographs?

Yes – I love party booths and normally have some great ideas for some ‘fun booth shots’… Depending on what you want I charge extra for this service, normally R1000 extra.

Do you work with an assistant / second photographer?

As far as possible I prefer to work with someone. For all local weddings I have a handful of great photographer friends who work with me as second shooters – this will ensure that we capture each and every moment and that we can offer more variety with different points of view. Depending on the package you’ve chosen, we will discuss the second photographer option and costs if nessisary.

How long before we’ll receive our DVD / prints?

Please allow at least 3 weeks - editing can be quicker or take longer, depending on my workload. Prints will be available within two weeks of your order. Please allow extra time for coffee table books.

Is travelling cost included?

The first 30km each way is included – after that a variable charge per km will apply.

How many photos on average do you take at a wedding?

I normally take between 800 and 1500 images on the wedding day, however, I will only edit approximately the best 450 - and the same applies if there’s a second photographer.  Therefor you can expect a DVD with  at least 800 edited photos, and furthermore I will include most other photos captured on the day.

Do you do location shoots or studio work?

I prefer working in a natural environment as it brings out the best in kids and is normall more real / different. Parks, gardens and your own home will offer a wealth of opportunities and normally makes the little ones feel more at ease.

I am able to do basic studio work at my home.

Do you use props?

It really depends on the client and style of photos you’re after. I’m always open to suggestion and if you’d like to bring your dog or bicycle, I’m happy to work with it.

My style is clean and simple and I’m not a huge fan of props, although having said that, a little hat or toy can often add to a baby picture.
